Those who know her best say she's a miracle baby, because what happened to Taylor Myer in utero—and where she is today—is still a medical mystery. Taylor was born with fetal Graves' disease, a condition that was passed along from her mother. But the story isn't that straightforward. Her mother, Sandy Myer, was diagnosed with Graves' disease in her 30s. "Having a baby that has too much thyroid hormone floating around, really revs up the baby's metabolism and growth and can cause problems," said Dr. Meghan Donnelly at the University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado.
